Discretionary Housing Payment Policy 2022-23

11.1 All DHP applications must be made online. Support to make a claim is available in the Customer Service Centres.

11.2 The Council may request any reasonable evidence in support of an application for a DHP. The claimant will be asked to provide the evidence within 7 working days of such a request, although this will be extended in appropriate circumstances. Sufficient evidence will need to be obtained to enable the decision maker to compare income against expenses to identify where there is a shortfall.

11.3 The Council reserves the right to verify any information or evidence provided by the claimant in appropriate circumstances.
