Time is running out - have you applied for a secondary school place?
Parents and carers across Stockton-on-Tees are being reminded to get their applications in for their child's secondary school place.
How do I know if it is time to apply for my child?
If your child was born between 1 September 2009 and 31 August 2010, they will start secondary school in September 2021.
How do I apply?
You can also telephone 01642 526605 to request a paper copy, if necessary.
When is the deadline?
The deadline to apply is Saturday, 31 October 2020. Any late applications will only be considered after those made on time have been processed.
How many schools can I apply for?
Four. To give you the best chance of getting into a local school it is important to use all four preferences available to you.
When will I find out what place has been allocated to my child?
People who applied online (and ticked the option to receive an email) will receive an email on Monday, 1 March 2021 informing them of the school they have been offered. A letter will be sent to parents who completed a paper application.
What do Councillors say?
Councillor Lisa Evans, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "The deadline is looming but you still have a few days to apply for a secondary place so make sure you submit your four preferred schools before 31 October.
"It's also a good opportunity to think about how your child will travel to school - take some time to look at our school transport policy to help with your decision."
