Safeguarding children on licensed premises
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council Children's Services are the responsible authority for matters relating to the protection of children from harm under the Licensing Act 2003.
It is a national licensing objective to safeguard children from their birth until they turn 18.
Children's Services are notified of new applications for the sale and supply of alcohol and public entertainment and all licence variations.
We aim to reduce the risk of a range of safeguarding issues, including:
- sexual exploitation
- substance misuse
- witnessing or being victims of crime
- anti-social behaviour
