Primary school applications are open
Applications for primary school places across Stockton-on-Tees are now open for children starting school in September 2020.
If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016, they will start primary school in September 2020.
Parents and carers are able to select up to three school preferences, and can provide reasons for the application.
There is no automatic transfer from nursery to primary school, meaning you must apply even if your child attends a school nursery.
Councillor Lisa Evans, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "Starting primary school is an important time for any child and I would encourage parents and carers to use all three school preferences to have the best chance of your child securing a place at a school of your choice. Don't forget to submit your application before the 15 January deadline to avoid disappointment."
The closing date for applications is 15 January 2020, and any late applications will only be considered after those made on time have been processed.
Letters will be sent to parents and carers on 16 April 2020 to inform them which school has been offered to their child. Those who applied online (and ticked the option to receive an email notification) will receive an email confirmation.
The easiest way to submit an application is via the online form at Elections and voting.
