Magic, potions and snakes: What to expect at the fifth Harry Potter Book Night

Tickets are now available for the free event on Thursday 7 February in Stockton Central Library.

J.K Rowling's celebrated novels will be brought to life through creative writing workshops, craft making stalls and 3D pen sessions.

Budding witches and wizards can create their own wands, watch potion demonstrations and meanwhile Kirkleatham Owl Centre will be bringing owls, snakes, lizards and rats.

There will also be a magician, face painting, archery, a giant chess board and sweet treats courtesy of Chocolini's.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "This is the fifth year the library has hosted this popular event which is enjoyed by Harry Potter fans and book lovers alike.

"Yet again we have a range of creative activities on offer, along with games and a chance to meet some unusual animals.

"This is just one of the brilliant events held in libraries across Stockton-on-Tees. I would encourage everybody to come and enter the magical world of Hogwarts."

An autism-friendly session will take place from 4pm to 5pm and general admission is from 5pm to 7pm. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
