Last chance for primary school applications
Parents and carers across Stockton-on-Tees have just one week left to apply for this year's primary school places.
If your child was born between September 1 2015 and August 31 2016, they will start primary school in September 2020.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday January 15 and any late submissions will only be considered after those made on time have been processed.
Parents and carers can select up to three school preferences and can provide reasons in the application.
There is no automatic transfer from nursery to primary school, meaning you must apply even if your child attends a school nursery.
Councillor Lisa Evans, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "It is vital you submit any primary school applications before next week's deadline to help avoid any disappointment.
"Starting school is such an important step in every child's life and it is crucial they have the best start to education.
"Don't run the risk of missing out on your preferred school!"
An email confirmation will be sent to parents and carers on April 16 2020 to inform them which school has been offered to their child. Those who completed a paper application form will receive a letter.
The easiest way to apply is via the online form at School admissions.
