It's thriving! - Fairfield Library a year on from refurbishment
A successful first year for one of the Borough's libraries has been recognised at a special event.
The Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees, Councillor Eileen Johnson, led the celebrations at Fairfield Library a year on from its refurbishment.
The library was reconfigured with the private nursery run by The Barn Childcare.
The Mayor said: "It was a really special occasion to celebrate the new Fairfield Library's first birthday.
"It is proving very popular with residents and it's great to see the library thriving alongside the nursery."
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: "The shared use of the building is a great example of how we've found new ways to retain much-valued local services like this.
"I'm sure it'll continue to be a place where people both young and old discover and continue a lifetime love of reading and storytelling."
