It puts us in a much stronger position says Leader as Stockton-on-Tees Local Plan is adopted
Councillors have agreed to formally adopt the Stockton-on-Tees Local Plan.
The plan sets out a vision for the future development of the Borough in relation to housing, the economy, transport, community facilities and infrastructure up to 2032.
And at a full Council meeting yesterday (Wednesday 30 January), councillors agreed that it be formally adopted.
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: "Having an adopted Local Plan puts us in a much stronger position to determine development, reject unwanted developments and shape the future of the Borough.
"An incredible amount of hard work has gone into creating the plan and I'd like to thank everyone who has been involved as well as everybody who gave their views during the consultation.
"The plan will help to plot the successful growth of our Borough over the coming years and ensure Stockton-on-Tees remains a great place to live, work and do business for years to come."
