Date consultation closed

Description
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are aiming to make streets and spaces in your area more attractive, safer and welcoming to use, to provide the opportunity for more walking, cycling and spending time outside. The consultation asked how you view and use your local streets. Some questions included:
- how do you choose to get around your neighbourhood?
- how do you feel about the street?
- how does this impact on how you use the street and what changes do you feel could be made to make the streets more attractive and welcoming to use?
Results and outcomes
Two target areas have been identified as part of the Healthy Streets pilot project:
- Bedford Street in Newtown
- High Newham Road in Hardwick
The Healthy Streets project will improve a street in your local area. The aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in the local community. This might be about making it easier for people to walk and cycle, providing seating, shelter, lighting, play etc, or greening and painting parts of the street to make it look more welcoming.
The pilot projects are ongoing in each area so please look out for future opportunities to engage with the project, or get in touch if you'd like further information. You can contact the Place Development Team with any questions or to get involved with the project on placedevelopment@stockton.gov.uk or call 01642 526595.
