Healthy Streets
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are aiming to make streets and spaces in your area more attractive, safer and welcoming to use, to provide the opportunity for more walking, cycling and spending time outside.
Newtown handyman service
Through community consultation held in the Newtown pilot area, it is clear that residents want to feel safe on their streets and in their homes. As one of the outcomes of the Healthy Streets project, the Council has appointed a handyperson to carry out home improvements in the pilot area to help residents feel safer and more secure in their homes.
The handyman will install a range of security measures to individual dwellings including window alarms, door chains, ultimate property marking kits, 24-hour timers, door handle alarms and locking letter box plate restrictors.
