Commercial Services
In addition to our own public space surveillance cameras, we provide monitoring facilities to businesses and homes which have CCTV installations and alarm systems.
We can monitor sites anywhere in the country 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from our Surveillance Centre. Being locally based is a major benefit to local customers who can also take advantage of our response service.
The control room is also responsible for providing a full range of services, which include:
- CCTV monitoring on private land
- lone worker monitoring and panic alarms
- alarm monitoring and response
- key holding services
If you would like to discuss any of our commercial services further, or obtain a free, no obligation quote for tailored services to meet your needs contact our team on security.surveillance@stockton.gov.uk or phone 01642 528989.
Civil claims
We are able to provide recordings from our public space surveillance cameras for the purpose of civil claims between individuals or companies. The most common example of this request is road traffic collisions disputes.
We only accept requests of this nature from either your solicitor or in some instances, your insurance company. This is to ensure that the images provided are being used for lawful purposes only.
We have a legal duty to ensure images are not disclosed unlawfully under both the Data Protection Act and the Protection of Freedoms Act.
There is a charge of £100.00 plus VAT to review and produce a copy of any evidential footage.
Why do we charge?
The public surveillance camera system in Stockton-on-Tees is installed to deal with crime and disorder, and the staff dealing with these types of requests would normally be ensuring our communities remain safe. Income made from the charging policy in these instances is used to ensure suitable levels of staffing are consistently maintained.
