Care leavers local offer - No Limits
Supporting you to move onwards and upwards.
As part of being your Corporate Parent, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council have developed a scheme to enable staff to help you reach your potential by offering you dedicated time or financial support as any parent would.
The scheme has been developed in consultation with the Let's Take Action group who told us that having this support would give them opportunities that would not always be available. The scheme has 2 parts, one is giving time and the other is giving money.
Giving time
Staff who have volunteered to sign up to the scheme will write a short pen picture about themselves and you will be able to choose who you think might be suitable for your needs. When you and your buddy first meet you can decide what support you might need. This can be a friendship, informal mentoring or to seek opportunities to promote your wellbeing such as:
- going to the gym together
- meeting for a coffee
- playing an instrument
- joining a sports team
Giving money
Staff can donate money from their salary which could:
- help you to take up a new hobby
- provide financial assistance for items that may not be readily available to you
- help you go on a course that will help with your job or career
Further information
The 2 schemes are still in development and more information will be available soon.
