Learn something new this summer: Distance learning courses available
Distance learning courses in a wide range of topics are on offer from Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Learning and Skills Service this summer.
The courses, ranging from digital skills to health and fitness, can be completed in your own time and at your own pace.
This summer there are some new introductory 'Essentials' packages on offer. These courses group together complementary modules and are a great way to develop skills with options available to progress to accredited courses where learners can gain nationally recognised qualifications.
The vast majority of all distance learning courses are fully funded, which means they are free as long as they are completed.
Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, said: "A wide range of subjects are on offer through these distance learning courses which means there's something for everyone, whether you're looking to boost your CV or just want to learn something new.
"The courses are delivered online so they're great if you need flexibility to choose when and where to study and the vast majority won't cost you anything as long as you complete the course.
"You can learn at your own pace and will also be assigned a personal tutor to ensure you have the support you need throughout the course. Don't hesitate to sign up!"
