Loneliness and isolation

Loneliness and isolation can affect anybody at any time and for a number of different reasons.

We know that the Covid-19 pandemic has made some of us feel more isolated than usual and changed the way we interact with others.  Connecting, or reconnecting with people and activities you enjoy is an essential step in overcoming loneliness and isolation. In Stockton-on-Tees, we are determined to tackle the stigma around loneliness and isolation, by working closely with voluntary and charity organisations to build a stronger, more united community.

The Community Connect Service is here to listen, help you to connect with others, explore your interests and give you the confidence to access activities and local groups such as a walking group, creative arts group, exercise class or social group to support health and wellbeing. They can also signpost and support you to access other sources of support. Anyone over 16 can self-refer.
