Vouchers on the way for eligible households this summer

Vouchers to help with energy and food costs are on the way for low-income families around the Borough this summer.

The £80 vouchers, funded by the Government's Household Support Fund, will be sent by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to all households eligible for Council Tax Reduction.

More than 11,000 working-age households entitled to Council Tax Reduction are set to receive a voucher by the end of June.

And more than 6,000 residents who are pensionable age and entitled to Council Tax Reduction will receive their vouchers by the end of July.

There is no need to apply for the payment and the vouchers can be exchanged for cash at any PayPoint outlet.

Support for those not eligible for Council Tax Reduction

Discretionary £80 payments are available to low-income, energy paying households who do not receive Council Tax Reduction or cost of living support payments.

Support for Care Leavers

Residents aged 18 to 25 years who have left care will receive a voucher worth £80.

Back on Track scheme

The remaining funding will be used to supplement the Council's Back on Track scheme, which offers crisis support in the form of goods and services.
