Candidates confirmed for Hartburn ward local election

Ten candidates will contest the upcoming Hartburn ward local election.

The local and parish election on 4 May 2023 was countermanded in Hartburn ward following the death of candidate, Mike Elliott.

The election will take place on Thursday 22 June.

The candidates are:

  • Christopher COOMBS (Labour Party)
  • Andrew Michael ELLIOTT (Reform UK)
  • Jason John FRENCH (The Conservative Party)
  • Lynn Elizabeth HALL (The Conservative Party)
  • Jess HOBSON (Green Party)
  • Niall Bell INNES (The Conservative Party)
  • Jason Walter JORDAN (Green Party)
  • Kiran SINGH (Green Party)
  • Andrew Frederick STEPHENSON (Reform UK)
  • Joanne Louise TYLER (Labour Party)

Residents who are not on the electoral register who wish to vote in this election must apply to register by Tuesday 6 June.

Those who are registered to vote and would like to vote by post or postal proxy must apply by 5pm on Wednesday 7 June.

Those who are registered to vote and would like to vote by proxy must apply by 5pm on Wednesday 14 June.

Registration is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete. You'll need to provide your date of birth and National Insurance number.

Complete your registration online by visiting the dedicated GOV.UK webpage or if you need assistance, you can call the Voter Registration helpline on 01642 526196.

This year's local elections are the first time that people across the UK need to show photographic ID to vote at a polling station.

Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport, a UK, EEA or Commonwealth drivers' licence, and some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person's bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card.

Voters will be able to use expired photo ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.

Anyone who does not have one of the accepted forms of ID can apply for a free photographic ID online or by completing a paper form by 5pm on Wednesday, 14 June.
