Hitting doormats from Monday (16 August), the prospectus has courses covering learning for life, learning for work, apprenticeships, routes to employment and learning for pleasure.

Classroom-based courses continue to be a priority and the service are committed to offering a safe learning environment so, in addition to distance learning courses that are delivered online, you can be assured any in-person courses meet all health and safety requirements and Government guidelines.

The range of courses on offer is wide and varied from yoga to cookery, art to ceramics, family learning to Makaton, foreign languages to maths and digital skills to apprenticeships - with plenty more available.

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing, and Chair of the Learning and Skills Service governing body, said: "We're delighted to have the new prospectus ready to go with courses starting from September, there are opportunities to be grasped here that are open to everyone.

"Whether you are looking to add to your qualifications, get back into work, find an apprenticeship or just take up a new hobby or pastime, I'd encourage you to have a good read through the prospectus online or when it comes through your door. Whatever your aspiration is, our Learning and Skills Service is there to help you."

There's also an open day being held at Billingham Community Centre where you can speak to friendly staff about any course between 3pm and 7pm on Thursday 9 September.

If you'd prefer to have a video call remotely from your home, please book a session by emailing learning.skills@stockton.gov.uk or you can talk over the phone on 01642 527904.
