Dan Fagan
Councillor Dan Fagan represents Yarm Ward and was elected in May 2021.
Councillor Dan Fagan has lived in the Stockton community with his family for many years.
He loves the area and wants to work hard as a representative of his community to keep Yarm as a beautiful and green place to live alongside the great businesses in the High Street.
He runs his own successful practice in spinal surgery and as a result has much experience in running a small to medium sized business with reach across the Northeast and understands the pressures of local businesses first-hand.
He still enjoys helping people to improve their lives - he worked in the NHS for 17 years as a junior doctor and later a trauma surgeon spending many hours on call saving accident victims lives. He has been a consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon for 14 years now, bringing internationally recognised advanced spinal surgery techniques to the region. More recently he has also joined the senior management team at one of the local hospitals and is Medical Advisory Committee Chair, plus Clinical Governance Chairman there.
He wants to use his compassion, professionalism and management experience to provide his fellow Yarm and Stockton Borough residents with robust representation on council matters which affect everyone in our local area. He is extremely interested in the environment, and his concerns include local planning and over development, congestion and road safety, and solidly supporting local businesses.
He is of course also very interested in improving and promoting the health and wellbeing of all the children and adults in the Borough.
He enjoys playing tennis, training at the gym and snowboarding when he gets a chance.
