Yarm resident parking schemes and permits

There are two residents permit parking schemes in operation in Yarm town centre, one on Yarm High Street and one in Yarm town centre west.

Both zones operate between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday excluding Bank Holidays. A permit is not required to park outside of these times.

Permits apply to parking bays in the appropriate zone and do not allow parking on any yellow lines or in the off street car parks. Permits are not interchangeable between the 2 zones.

We can not guarantee any specific bay to a particular property and parking continues to operate on a first come, first served basis.

What types of permit are available?

You can apply for:

  • resident permits - a maximum of 2 permits are available per household that does not have any parking provision other than on Yarm High Street in line with planning criteria for parking standards
  • visitor permits - voucher scratch cards are available for use by visitors to those residents that do not have any parking provision other than on Yarm High Street (those residents that have one off street private parking space but no provision for visitors would also be eligible to purchase visitor vouchers)

For further details about the permits and how they work, read our Yarm resident parking scheme guidance notes.
