Last chance to apply for primary school places

If your child was born between September 1, 2014, and August 31, 2015, he or she will start primary school this September.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, January 15, with any late applications only considered after those made on time have been processed. 

Parents and carers are able to select up to three school preferences, and there is no automatic transfer from nursery to primary school.

Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "This is a reminder to all parents and carers to meet the deadline so you don't run the risk of missing out on your preferred school.

"It is vital that your child has the best start in education so please take the time to fill out an application correctly if you have not yet done so."

An email confirmation will be sent to parents and carers on April 16, 2019, to inform them which school has been offered to their child. Those who completed a paper application form will receive a letter.
