In Living Memory
The In Living Memory project is a collection of the Borough's memories, stories and experiences.
In Living Memory is a collection of the Borough's memories, stories and experiences.
The project began following a series of sessions that brought together the people of Stockton-on-Tees to share what living in the Borough means to them. The seven Community Partnerships across Stockton-on-Tees worked with the community and the Council to gather stories and showcased them at an interactive exhibition in 2022.
In Living Memory Community Coronation exhibition
Over the past few months, the Community Partnerships and the Engagement Team have been gathering your stories about everything royal in the Borough. These have been put together into an exhibition at Preston Park Museum to celebrate your stories and history.
The exhibition revisits history by celebrating coronations gone by, as well as commemorating the King's modern coronation earlier this year.
From street parties across the Borough to dancing at the Big Lunch on Stockton High Street, In Living Memory Community Coronation shares fond memories from local residents of how Stockton-on-Tees has recognised coronations both old and new.
Visit the exhibition from Monday 23 October to Wednesday 15 November at Preston Park Museum, Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe, TS18 3RH.
In Living Memory In Our High Streets (Stockton)
In Living Memory In Our High Streets (Stockton) is a campaign looking find stories, quotes and pictures from people like you who live and work in Stockton. Stockton's High Street is undergoing a huge transformation with the creation of Stockton Waterfront, an urban park which will open up the High Street and connect it to the river.
Do you have a Stockton High Street heritage item, from the distant or more recent past, that you would like to be included in our archives and public displays? Have you got a High Street photograph you would like to share?
We also want to hear your stories and experiences of the town centre to share them at a future exhibition celebrating the High Street's heritage.
