Homes for Ukraine
Homes for Ukraine is a government scheme where residents can offer a spare room or their home to those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our residents, with over a hundred opening up their homes to safely accommodate people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
The Homes for Ukraine scheme is continuing to operate to new guests and those expected to arrive shortly. For more information about the Homes for Ukraine scheme, visit Homes for Ukraine FAQs on gov.uk.
Offer a home to people fleeing Ukraine
Anyone wishing to become a sponsor can do so by registering their interest at the gov.uk website.
Register to become a Homes for Ukraine sponsor
If you already know who you want to sponsor, you do not need to record your interest but you can help them apply for a visa under the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme instead.
Support available for Ukrainian guests and sponsors
People arriving under this scheme are able to:
- live and work in the UK for up to three years
- access healthcare, benefits, employment support, education and English language tuition
A member of our Integration and Support team will contact sponsors, once they have been matched to their Ukrainian guests on the Government portal, to arrange necessary safeguarding checks prior to guests arriving.
Upon arrival, a designated support officer will be in touch to arrange an initial support visit and provide ongoing support to guests and sponsors alike.
