Final recommendations for ward boundary changes announced
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has announced its final recommendations for the Stockton-on-Tees Borough.
The independent body has reviewed the Borough's wards to to ensure each councillor represents about the same number of electors.
There were three separate consultations held by the national body, with more than 250 comments submitted.
And the LGBCE has recommended the Council should be represented by 56 councillors, which is the same number of current councillors.
There are set to be five three-councillor wards, 19 two-councillor wards, and three one-councillor wards.
The proposed changes will now be considered by Parliament with a view to this coming into force for the Council elections in 2023.
Full details of the final recommendations can be viewed on the LGBCE website.
