Mental Health
Everyone experiences emotional distress as part of the emotional ups and downs in life. Feelings of stress, anxiety or being low at some point are all completely normal. When these experiences occur there are many support options available to help you:
Impact on Teesside
Impact on Teesside is a free and confidential service, commissioned by the NHS and is available to anyone aged 16 and over living in Stockton-on-Tees. You can self-refer over the phone or by completing an online self-referral form.
Tees-wide Training Hub
Tees-wide Training Hub aims to increase mental health knowledge and skills across a range of settings and professions in Teesside. The Hub provides training for organisations that are most likely to come into contact with people who are most at risk of poor mental health. They provide support to organisations to effectively build training capacity and use their knowledge and skills within their role to continually develop.
CRUSE Bereavement Service
CRUSE Bereavement Services offers face-to-face, telephone, email and website support for people who have experienced bereavement. They provide specialist support to people affected by suicide and to people affected by a drug or alcohol-related death. They also have a freephone national helpline and a youth website called Hope again which is specifically aimed at children and young people.
The term 'mental health' means different things to different people but in essence it's all about how we think, feel and behave. Good mental health is when people are able to function in society, have fulfilling relationships with other people, cope with change and loss and meet the demands of everyday life. When people experience mental health problems, they often find that they have difficulties in some or all of these areas.
