My week started with an informal meeting of Cabinet ahead of an all-members briefing the following day.
On Tuesday there was a members briefing session hosted online where all members were given an update from Mike Greene, Chief Executive of the Council. We also went through the recent LGA Peer Review on our adult social care service, for which the feedback was very positive.
Mid-week it was the Health and Wellbeing Board, which I Chair. Things discussed on the agenda included a Care and Health Winter Planning update. The cold weather and dark nights are a huge contributing factor to ill health, and it's important that the Council and its partners are all prepared to help people as much as possible during the winter and that we're as proactive as possible.
This morning I am attending a Leader's and Mayor's meeting on Riot Recovery, hosted by the Local Government Association (LGA). It allows Leaders and Mayors to reflect on the far-right riots across the UK and how we dealt with them, and how the LGA can help us as Councils.
This weekend I will be spending some time with my family. Middlesbrough only managed to come away with a point last weekend despite being 3-1 up at half time. It was an incredibly entertaining game regardless of the result, and when we host Coventry on Saturday I hope we can make the most of being strong favourites to win.
