Stockton-on-Tees Plan sets out vision for the future
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has set out its vision to reduce inequalities, remove barriers to opportunity and create a future "we can all be proud of".
The latest version of the Stockton-on-Tees Plan 2024 to 2028 was agreed at a meeting of the Council's Cabinet on Thursday (October 17).
There are five key priorities, which are:
- the best start in life to achieve big ambitions
- healthy and resilient communities
- a great place to live, work and visit
- an inclusive economy
- a sustainable Council
The plan will now be open for community consultation, with a view to it being agreed at a full Council meeting next month.
"This plan marks a new way of working for the Council," said the Council's Leader, Councillor Bob Cook.
He continued: "The plan has been developed by engaging with our communities and community voices are at the heart of our vision to be 'Team Stockton-on-Tees'.
"We recognise there are growing pressures on public services, but the 'Powering our Future' work is now well underway to put in innovative ways of working that is in the best interests of our residents.
"And as the economic heart of the Tees Valley, we want to ensure all our residents can grow and succeed, whilst also working together with communities and partners to reduce inequalities and remove barriers to opportunity.
"Our diverse Borough is a fantastic place to live, work and play, with a rich culture. As our vision states, we want to deliver a future we can all share and be proud of."
