The week began with a catch up with Jonathan Nertney, Head of Democratic Services. Democratic Services supports all aspects of the democratic and electoral processes in Stockton-on-Tees and is responsible for elections and electoral registration. Our catch ups allow me to keep up to date with the Council's scrutiny function, as well as keeping informed of democratic engagement within the Borough and strengthening Member learning and development.
On Tuesday, I attended the General Licensing Committee held in the Jim Cooke Conference Suite. We discussed a report on variations to hackney carriage tariffs, in addition to a review of hackney carriage and private hire licensing policy. It is vital to review policies like these to ensure they are kept up-to-date and reflect changes in the industry both nationally and locally.
Midweek I joined an agenda setting meeting for the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) with several members of the NHS Integrated Care Board for the North East and North Cumbria. The ICP brings together a broad alliance of partners concerned with improving the care, health and wellbeing of the local population, and is responsible for is producing an integrated care strategy for the region.
Thursday and Friday were quieter days which allowed me to catch up with important paperwork and other items.
At the weekend, I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.
